Be Strong and Courageous

God gives us so much comfort in His Word, “Be strong and courageous” (Joshua 1:6, 7, 9). When we hear these words, rest assured, God knows we can do it.

Moses had just died and God told Joshua to prepare to cross the Jordan River. They were about to enter the Promised Land. God said, “Just as I was with Moses, I will be with you. I will not abandon you, and I will not forsake you” (Joshua 1:5). What comfort that must have been to those who had been wandering.

Then God commanded them to, “Be strong and courageous.” He does this three times in a matter of a few verses. “Be strong and courageous (vs. 6),  Be strong and very courageous (vs. 7), and, Be strong and courageous… because the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” (vs. 9).

In 2020, the year of the Coronavirus, we can remember all the horrible things that happened that year. But, there were so many blessings. Families got closer. Churches were able to rally and get their services and daily devotions online and reached thousands of viewers. We relied on God and became closer to Him in prayer.

Cross-stitch is working behind the scenes to gather information to know the needs of our missions. The children in our orphanages rely on the funds we gather to supplement their food and clothing. The children in Amazon school also rely on your donations for food assistance. The Fuel for Food program remains essential.

Be Strong and Courageous, because we know God will get us through this time through prayer. Please also keep our missions in your prayers and help Cross-stitch support our missions with your gifts.
